How to Play CS Major Run

CS Major Run is a roster-draft game. Build a 5-player Counter-Strike lineup from 2015–2025 history, then simulate how far that team goes in a Major Championship.

How It Works

  1. Fill 5 roster slots in order: Anchor I, Rotator I, AWP, Rotator II, Anchor II.
  2. For each draft round:
    • Spin a year (2015–2025)
    • Spin a team from that year
    • Draft one player from the pool
  3. When you pick a player, they are placed in the slot that matches their primary role (AWP, Rotator, or Anchor).
  4. Rerolls — you get 1 year reroll and 1 team reroll per round (year reroll is disabled if the team only exists in one year).
  5. When all 5 slots are filled, your roster is scored and run through a simulated Major bracket.

Roster Score (0–100)

Your team score is the average of five individual player scores, plus an IGL adjustment:

| Factor | Effect | | --- | --- | | Year Rating | Up to 35 pts — higher 1.xx rating scores better | | HLTV Top 20 | Up to 35 pts — ranked players score more (#1 best) | | Team Rank | Up to 35 pts — stronger teams in that year score higher | | Major Win | +10 if the player has won a Valve Major | | Choke Factor | Penalty up to −15 based on the player's choke stat | | IGL on roster | +5 if at least one player is an IGL | | No IGL | −10 penalty |

Major Result Tiers

Your final placement is based on the roster score threshold:

| Tier | Label | | --- | --- | | 85+ | Major Champion | | 75+ | Runner Up | | 70+ | Semi Finalist | | 60+ | Quarter Finalist | | 41+ | Stage 3 Groups (Top 16) | | 21+ | Stage 2 Groups (Top 24) | | 0+ | Stage 1 Group (Top 32) |

The path view shows stage-by-stage results with small score variance for drama.

Strategy

  • Prioritize high year rating and Top 20 players in strong teams.
  • Always include an IGL — the −10 penalty without one is brutal.
  • Use year rerolls to hunt elite eras; use team rerolls to land on a deep roster.
  • Major winners add a flat +10 — valuable in close drafts.
  • Watch choke factor on star players with shaky playoff reputations.
